Due to the recent rains and the saturated ground conditions, the Fourth of July festivities scheduled for Saturday at Kankakee Community College – the family activities, the symphony concert and the fireworks- have been postponed and will be rescheduled at a later date.
“We regret having to postpone these wonderful events, but the conditions left us no choice,” said Carl Maronich, president of the Kankakee Valley Symphony Orchestra. “The Fourth of July concert and fireworks, along with all the fun family activities, have become a tradition for the region. We look forward to working with the City of Kankakee and the staff at KCC to reschedule this event later in the summer and provide the great event everyone has come to expect.”
As information on the rescheduling of the event becomes available, it will be posted on the KVSO website, www.KVSO.org, Maronich said.
